Drama television is at it's peak with such iconic shows like SHOGUN, THE CROWN, THE MORNING SHOW, WHITE LOTUS, YELLOWJACKETS and so much more. With the influx of networks and streaming platforms either moving into or expanding their original content libraries, the demand for dramatic TV ideas and pilots has never been greater. Thanks to streamers such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, Disney , Max and others, over 600 shows were greenlit last year. But not only is the quantity increasing, so is the quality, as companies are funneling money, resources, marketing and talent into their shows. In short, there has never been a better time to write for TV. Now it’s just a matter of breaking in.
In this exclusive Stage 32 8-part screenwriting lab, you will write a drama TV pilot script under the guidance of an industry leader to guarantee your script is ready to go to market. Guiding you through the process for your pilot is Anna Henry. As soon as you sign up you will be linked on email with Anna and given a questionnaire to fill out and send back to her. You will have access to her for the duration of your class by email to ask her any questions you have about your craft or career - it’s like having a mentor on demand!

Etched On Me (Miniseries drama, 5 episodes)
A courageous queer survivor of abuse recovers from self harm only to have to battle social services for the right to raise her unborn daughter. Inspired by a true story.
Hi, Jenn. Some that come to mind are “Maid”, “Unbelievable” and “Feel Good” (all Netflix). I don’t know if any of these really compare to what you’re focusing on, but they might be a good place to start.
The handouts were sent out on Monday. If you haven't seen them, please check your spam.
The handouts were very comprehensive and helpful. Thank you!
Jenn, you’ve hooked me. Sorry I can’t help with comps.
