Hey there, Jack Vincent I love to twist and bend genres. I’m not a romance guy and I can’t write comedy to save my life. However, there is usually some thread of humour in most of my stories. I like to infuse my scripts with psychological tension, whatever the genre. Whether it’s social issues or with my latest script, cosmological/existentialist sci-fi, you have the psychological tension alongside more humorous moments.

It’s great to see both of us - at our advanced age - working on developing a career in film and tv. Do you have a showreel?

No words, Jack Vincent !!! Really motivating, particularly for the ones who have doubts in their perspective dreams and goals, who are prone to self-sabotage and overthinking.

My plans for the summer are to finish my screenplay about someone who receives an Alzheimer’s diagnosis and whilst doing that, to work on a new sci-fi limited series. The idea came to me via a dream - I know I get lots of those and yes, I know it sounds like cheating! I can’t really remember a lot about the dream, save for two main characters who were kind of intoxicating when they were around and I thought I just had to write something. And so I’m developing a trilogy where the different episodes interact with each other. I’m loving it!

Haha Geoff Hall. I'm looking forward to watching your movie and limited series! That reminds me. I need to get back to work on a limited series I started a while ago.

Hi, Amy Moffatt. Glad you formally introduced yourself. Sorry to hear you had to have an operation. Congratulations on writing your first script! In three weeks is impressive. Congratulations on getting half way through your 3rd script!

Amy Moffatt Hi Amy and welcome to Stage 32’s IYW. Yes, that’s a good practice to have, in putting a little distance between yourself and the script. One other trick is that in rewriting, we need to go beyond editing typos or ill-conceived scenes and fumbling dialogue. You need to I think lose that emotional connection, to be an observer of the script and as the saying goes, learn to kill your darlings. From there, you get a better story.

Wyman Brent happy accidents are the best ;) my friend and drummer of the two main projects I’m in moved, so music has been on the back burner. I was the percussionist for Chuck Mosley (faith no more, bad brains) until his death, so that music is sort of frozen/messed up with publishing issues. For my bands, we typically release stuff digitally in small batches and every so often do short CD runs.

Fingers crossed that those directors say yes!

Douglas Esper, I certainly know of Chuck Mosley. Gone far too soon. Is there a place where I can hear your music? Thanks for the good wishes about the directors.
