New to the Stage 32 community. I've been writing screenplays for awhile, focusing on improving my craft with each script. I mainly write full-length feature films (either drama or sci-fi). This year, I changed things up a bit and decided to learn about writing for TV. Currently working on finishing my pilot episode.

Hi John and welcome to Stage 32! The difference in episodic work and features is huge. I started with pilots first and moved into features later. How are you liking television writing?

Writing my TV pilot has been a real challenge(!). Was very used to knowing about where act breaks take place in a 120-page script; in a 1-hour pilot, not so much. Re-thinking my approach to outlining and pacing the story. It's more work than I had initially thought ...
Thank you Zaha! Appreciate it!
John, oh absolutely yes television shows are a big challenge. Different kind of animal altogether. I have a very healthy respect for TV staff writers. It's not a very forgiving medium.
What's your pilot about, if you don't mind to share?

It's a buddy-cop story where one of the officers is a space alien.
