Weird message - a scam?

Over the past two months I got a couple of messages from this guy who claims to be "Vincent Newman".

I go to check today, and the latest one I got yesterday was deleted.

Was this someone deleting spam/scam stuff?

Which all means that despite being tagged by the moderators and teams, this guy is still around and still doing the same thing over and over.

Stage 32 seems to have no way of stopping him.

Good ol' Vince just hit me up with the initial email. Many thanks for starting this thread. I will forward the email to the gang at Stage32. He uses the email v.ncentnewman@gmail.com

On July 21 I wrote to Behr Abramson Levy Johnson, Vincent G. Newman’s legal reps, telling them what’s going on. I haven’t heard back from them.

Thanks for reporting and checking this, everyone. I got the same email offer. So disappointing.

Be on the lookout; it appears as though this scammer has now taken the profile of "Lloyd Segan." He sent me a near-identical message to "Vince's" initial message. Stay vigilant, my friends.

An ironic whitepill

Just happened upon this video a couple hours ago that despite painting a rather bleak picture, nonetheless made me even more determined to stick to my voice for writing (and also get back to reading actual physical books lol)

What do y'all think?

My Backstory w/Lance Cowan + Another Great Review + Radio Chart Numbers

Back in 1990 I moved from Dallas, TX to Nashville, TN to work for Vector Management. They were a fairly new artist management company. Their clients then included Holly Dunn, Nanci Griffith, New Grass Revival & Steve Wariner. The person I asked about Ken Levitan (one of the two partners) was Lyle Lo...

Are there any Stage 32 Pitch Sessions successes?

Has anyone found an actual buyer on the pitch sessions here? It seems like the people being pitched to are only offering feedback rather than greenlighting shows.

Janis Ian on Lance Cowan +

Very cool to see the legendary Janis Ian include Lance Cowan Music's song "Where'd They Go" (about the Trump administrations' horrible ICE policies) in her "100 Days of Protest Songs" on her Facebook Page. She also co-wrote "When He Was Here" which also appears on his new album, The Air That You Bre...

Job post monitoring

There are those of us who occasionally find a valid paid post on the jobs board for screenwriter (or other crew). However, the board is cluttered by those seeking investors, selling their services or offering no pay, deferred pay, total back-end, or requesting a bake-off or some other violation of e...

Former Smashwords Authors: A Heads-Up About Draft2Digital's New Annual Fee

I wanted to pass along a heads-up for anyone here who previously published through Smashwords and, like me, may not have been paying particularly close attention to what happened to their account after Draft2Digital acquired the company.

This morning I received an email from Draft2Digital informing m...

Lance Cowan is on a roll. A music publicist for decades, he only recently reinvented himself as a folk/Americana recording artist. But he has now issued three excellent albums and the latest of these…
