The Stage 32 Videos: Animatio

Animation: Cultures of the Earth, official short film, 2024

The animated short film "Cultures of the Earth" was produced for the Brazilian documentary of the same name, which addresses the importance of the Amazon rainforest biome in Brazil. The animation complements the narrative, bringing a magical and playful vision of the green giant.

Highlighting the process from animatic to final animation while also testing different visual approaches. For this scene, we experimented with using picture-based backgrounds versus fully hand-drawn environments to explore workflow, style, and overall impact. Always pushing the process to see what best brings the vision to life.

A look behind the scenes at the progression from animatic to final animation. This stage is where timing, pacing, and storytelling are refined before everything is fully brought to life. You’ll see how rough sequences evolve into polished motion, with adjustments made along the way to improve clarity and impact.

Some quick shots of animation work I've done for various projects including animated shorts, short films, stream assets, collabs, etc.

UNSHAKEABLE HOMES

As for my story titled "Unshakeable Homes," it is an animated film inspired by the "Three Little Pigs" fairy tale. It emphasizes the importance of structural durability and raises vital awareness about earthquake preparedness.

My 2 D Anime project

I created these 45 seconds from a film that I am still working on using AI tools such as Grok, SeaDance, and VEO 3 for animation. For the image model, I trained a LoRA AI model to generate the same environment consistently, and I used CapCut for the final editing and assembly. Creating these 45 seconds took approximately a full day of work. I made it entirely by myself using my own skills.

My work

Hello… umm, nice to meet you all. My name is Ahmed, and I wanted to share with you my plan to create my own film. I know this might sound a little crazy, but I decided to start making a film on my own. I don’t have a studio or a team working with me, so I decided to do everything by myself. Some of you might think I’m just an amateur and that these are only words, but I actually made this decision a year ago. Since then, I’ve watched many great works and taken courses in editing, directing, and screenwriting. I also learned many directing concepts, including scene transitions, the importance of sound and effects, camera angles, and the 3-second rule for scenes. I also studied the importance of movement speed and emotions, because emotions are a very important part of any scene. In addition to that, I learned and used AI tools in filmmaking, animation, and design. I trained my own AI models to create consistent characters and environments, used AI tools for animation and video generation, and handled the editing and final production myself. So the film is not just directing, but also design, AI production, animation, and editing — all done by me. I’m not saying that I’m perfect, but I’ve learned most of the directing knowledge that I needed. I also understand how difficult it is to create even a single scene, because things rarely work perfectly on the first attempt. It usually takes several tries to reach a good scene, even if it’s not perfect. So I don’t know how long it will take me to finish the film, but I’m sure of one thing: I will do my best and give it everything I have. Also, a small note: This is a short experimental part from an anime film project that I created entirely by myself. I haven’t added sound or effects yet, because I have a rule: I like to watch my work first without sound. If it looks beautiful without sound, then it will be even more beautiful with sound. Thank you.
