We got one!!!! I got my first screenplay request from a pitch session.

Hey everyone! Holy cow what a week it has been. I just released my 3rd novel which topped #3 in the free assassination thrillers on Amazon Kindle during it's free promo weekend. AND Then, today I got a screenplay request from one of my pitch sessions here at stage 32.

Not going to lie, was a little downbeat last week, you'll probably see my post in screenwriting, but this week, right here, right now I am top of the world!

Thanks for letting me share this moment! I hope you're all having an epic start to the week!

BUZZING!

Ritchie Johnston

Thank you everyone and thank you Maurice, you're words of encouragement on my posts have also been a massive help I really appreciate it dude! I'm guessing legend is you're middle name right! :D

Callie Currence

Congrats! How many pitches did you have to do before someone requested it?

Maurice Vaughan

You're welcome, Ritchie Johnston. I don't have a middle name, so I guess I'll use "Legend" as one. :D Glad to hear my words helped. I hope the script request leads to a sale and more opportunities for you!

Ritchie Johnston

Callie, I think I've had about 9 pitch sessions to get a request, I did get a bit frustrated with it all by about seven or eight but I took them all as positives and built each pitch up from the feedback that was useful and a lot of it has been. :) the one tip I got that really helped was to inject some lines into my pitch to sell the characters a bit more. Which was what I did with this one.

If you're currently pitching yourself I wish you the best of luck :)

Geoffroy Faugerolas

Congratulations, Ritchie! What a week. Would love to hear more about your novel. Sounds fascinating. Are some of your scripts based on your books as well? Would be a great way to leverage the IP you own.

Ritchie Johnston

Thanks Geoffrey, yes my third novel came from a screenplay, I've actually posted it on here in my loglines. It's called Triggered, it's a buddy cop thriller with a sci-fi edge set in London. I started writing the novels from my screenplays as I had a few and I hate just leaving things so I've been revising my oldest ones into novelas mainly as a way to build I.P and see if there was an audience.

Callie Currence

Ritchie Johnston Putting actual lines into the pitch is a good idea! Gives them a taste of the writer's "flavor" haha I've done 3 so far for my cannibal/murder crime romance, and they've all said it was pretty good, but "they've seen it already". So now I'm working on making more distance between it and other films in that category.

Geoffroy Faugerolas

That's amazing. I'm going to check it out. There's always a need for great thrillers and producers are particularly keen for IP-based thrillers. I'm also curious about the sci-fi edge!
