The place – the high deserts of West Texas, Southern New Mexico, and Nevada, the jungles of Mexico and Colombia, the high seas of the Caribbean. His name was Lee Chagra. He weaves this cautionary, maybe even foundational, tale of high crimes and conspiracy into the Borderland and into popular American culture. And then there is this thing, the separation and evolution of values, the defiance of traditional culture and society, the emergence of an international industry. The vortex of these circumstances and elements comes to life in the story of Empresario.

The scourge of humanity descends on a small mountain community. It will leave a trail of bodies in its wake - young, unsuspecting kids just trying to fit in, just having a good time. A group of hikers finds the body of a young teenage girl at a high alpine camp. But she is not the first, and unfortunately, not the last. It has been a rather peaceful time in the Town of Telluride since the storm. Nothing unusual or dramatic. No mysterious disappearances, kidnappings, or deaths. But an age-old scourge has returned, with a vengeance.
