The problem isn’t motivation.
The problem is misinformation.
This @antennebayern conversation was about something many people struggle with — not a lack of discipline, but the confusion created by nutrition and fitness myths that sound simple and feel comforting. We talked about popular shortcuts like “don’t eat at night,” “sweat more to burn fat,” “carbs make you fat,” and especially the “just eat half” myth (FDH) — catchy, easy to remember, and often misleading.
Weight loss doesn’t work through slogans. Fat burning doesn’t start after a magic minute mark. Sweat is cooling, not progress.
And eating less without understanding what and why often leads to frustration, not sustainability.
As an actor, physical readiness matters — but sustainability matters more. Burning yourself out with half-truths and extreme rules may change numbers short term, but it always takes more than it gives. The same applies to training, nutrition, careers, and life itself: consistency beats punishment, clarity beats chaos.
What stayed with me after this episode is something we don’t hear often enough: you don’t need to fight your body — you need to work with it. Real progress begins when we stop believing what sounds good and start trusting what actually works.
Grateful for honest conversations like this.
Sometimes real change starts by letting go of the myths.
