Ed Stiles, a scruffy octogenarian, is the last man standing in a remarkable ghost town in California’s Muir Woods. It’s not on any map, and entrance is forbidden. Called Druid Heights, it was a place where radical hedonism and deep spirituality coexisted. A charismatic, saxophone-playing playboy presided over wild parties and a cast of eccentric storybook characters – the influencers of the 60’s and 70’s counterculture. Jack Kerouac wrote about them in The Dharma Bums.  It was a mecca to The Beats, Zen masters, feminist warriors, famous musicians, LSD outlaws and even porn stars. Now owned by the National Parks Service, its madcap architecture may all be bulldozed back to nature. This is the untold story of Paradise found, and soon, perhaps Paradise lost.

Director's Showcase Mobarez Javanmard 2025 I’m Mobarez Javanmard. My films look calm, but be careful, Calm is a trap... something underneath is always pushing back. I grew up where reality had layers: what you saw, what you feared, and what you hid to stay alive. Since 2002, I’ve worked inside that tension. Censorship from outside is easy to spot. The one that grows inside you, that’s the real danger. In every story, I look for the moment a person stops lying to themselves. It’s short, it’s sharp, and it’s honest. This is my world. I don’t retreat in the frame.

Music Without Borders follows two artists who refuse to stay inside the lines drawn for them. We meet Man Candy, a respected fashion designer and musician whose take on mariachi blends tradition with bold personal style. We also follow Rosa Pistola, a reggaetón artist using her platform to pull attention toward young talent growing up in low-income neighborhoods, giving them a path into music and a sense of possibility. Their worlds are different, but their missions connect: to show how culture moves when artists carry it forward, and how music can open doors that society often keeps shut. The film explores identity, community, and the power of sound to cross boundaries that geography and circumstance cannot.
