Mikey Blue Eyes is a romantic dramedy written by filmmaker and actor Stephen Michael Kelly. Set in a gritty blue-collar world, the story centers on Mikey and Franco, two trucking company owners whose business rivalry takes a sharp turn when a high-stakes client enters the picture. But the real powder keg? Mikey is romantically involved with Teresa—Franco’s sister and Mikey’s former flame. As tensions rise, loyalties fray and personal and professional lines blur in this ensemble-driven tale of love, rivalry, and working-class ambition. Mikey Blue Eyes blends street-smart humor with emotional complexity, creating a tone reminiscent of The Brothers McMullen, Moonstruck, and early David O. Russell films. Currently in development, the project features layered roles, a grounded setting, and strong commercial and festival potential. It’s a story about heart, hustle, and the messy ties that bind us—on and off the job.
