About Brandon

Twelve years of Catholic school did nothing to diminish a curious mind and caustic wit. I had no other choice than to be a teller of stories. Had no idea it would lead me to be an award-winning one.

During three years in radio, alternating as a personality between the morning show and the graveyard shift, legendary disc jockey, Rory Wild, lent me a shooting script of THE ROCK (1996) that he got from a producer. I was dazzled: This stinkin' thing was on an actual film set! Being this close to Hollywood stoked a fire and a short five years later, I finished the first draft of my own spec script, NICKY BATZ.

Quitting a very lucrative career in real estate, I moved from Hawaii to sleep on my sister's futon in Houston, TX. I tended bar while I polished NICKY BATZ and wrote my second script, THE 6, in a mere six weeks. I packed up the Isuzu, drove cross-country and rented a room in a five-bedroom mid-century Los Angeles house with a few lunatics and no central air. I quickly received my first writing gig with rookie director Van M. Pham. I networked, hung out at Burbank mall, made a few great contacts, and got hired for more scripts. My journey has landed me in Las Vegas and back to Houston to focus on more scripts and this wonderfully dull website you're kindly taking your time with.

Then during the Pandemic of 2020, production was halted on my directorial debut of my short film, WELCOME BACK, CHARLIE. Instead, I switched gears and wrote, shot and cut a poignant short film called MADS AND INVISIBLE BOB (2020), with nothing more than my daughter, son, wife and new puppy. In the middle of the pandemic (following COVID protocols), I shot my 2nd short film, THE BIG WAIT (2022), with a cast of 2 and crew of 1 in a hotel room. Really feeling my oats as a director, I finished my 3rd short film, SMART ALEX (adapted from my feature screenplay of the same name) in 2023, entered it every major film festival I've ever heard of (and some that are completely foreign to me) My first time out, it was accepted into four film festivals which became a finalist in one (Gulf Coast Video and Film Festival) and winning awards in another (Audience Favorite Award and Best Actor Short Film in the Life Fest Film Festival). In 2024, I completed my fourth and most ambitious short film, FANBOY, coming soon to a film festival near you!

Through Stage32 I hope to find like-minded filmmakers who don't believe that we make just "content"; we make films. Films that, because so much thought has been put into it, makes the audience leave the theater thinking. And the primary thought will be, "Whoa. That was NOT just content."

Unique traits: Brutal honesty. Unwavering belief that nothing is more important than The Story.
