Desperate to woo his high school crush at their class reunion, a successful yet insecure tech nerd struggles to locate the only thing that made him cool back in the day - his classic Firebird - when the still-terrifying class bully complicates matters.

SYNOPSIS:

Old insecurities creep up when, JOEL RONAN, creator of a revolutionary dating site and billionaire software giant receives an invitation to his 25th high school reunion. The classic nerd at St. Joseph’s Catholic High School, Joel struggled to avoid getting stuffed into his locker daily by class bully, BAD CHAD.

Unsure about reopening old wounds, Joel consults best friends and classmates: the roguish FRANKIE, DENNIS, the pervert/family man, and BLAKE, a beer-merchandiser of a few words. They suggest Joel should ride to the reunion in his prized classic Firebird, the only semblance of cool the tech nerd had and Joel commits.

But when they go to the storage locker Joel has the crimson Firebird stored – it’s gone.

About to give up, Joel confirms that not only is TERA, his high school crush, going to the reunion - she’s divorced. With one last shot at rewriting his angst-riddled memories, Joel vows to find his Firebird and get the girl.

Joel and The Boys set out to track down the car through their network of former classmates. DANNY, the gambler/insurance salesman and former quarterback and ladies’ man, JOHN-PAUL, now an over-weight, balding sheriff, come up dry. But Joel tracks down former Student Body President now criminal, RONNIE, in prison and confirms that Joel’s Firebird was stolen – by Bad Chad, now an organized crime boss. When Joel pays a dangerous visit to Bad Chad’s henchman, BALD BRIAN, he admits that Bad Chad was arrested by the authorities, no one has heard from him since.

Depressed that he still can’t find his Firebird, Joel and the Boys drown their sorrows at an out-of-the-way sports bar where Joel meets Stanford-educated HOT BARTENDER. He’s charmed by her when she tells him that he doesn’t need an old car to feel cool and he’ll regret not going to the reunion.

At the joyous class reunion, Joel can still feel the eyes of his classmates on him. But suddenly, the eyes of the alumni focus on something else – Bad Chad, escorted by Federal agents. Joel, fed up with “the same high school bullshit”, berates Bad Chad for making him fearful every day for four years. His verbal tirade surprises all – until the blaring of a car horn stops Joel in his tracks. He turns to see his Firebird, restored back to its original glory by Bad Chad returning a favor to Joel, who had tutored him once, unwittingly instilling in him knowledge that would be useful building his criminal empire.

Joel swaggers confidently when Tera finally arrives to their class reunion – with her new fiancé, a nerd named Glenn, who she met on Joel’s dating site. Dennis consoles Joel ludicrously telling him that they weren’t right for each other since the beginning of their names didn’t match, he needed to find another “J”. Joel takes off in his Firebird to the old sports bar. When he walks in, he smiles at the hot waitress, confirming he followed her advice. She formerly introduces herself to him, “Pleased to meet you, Joel. I’m Janine.”
