About Kristina

Born and raised in Northern California, Kristina Van Kirk has a passion for the environment, education, comparative religions, politics, writing, art and design, which is apparent in her screenplays. Her first screenplay, Still Looking, was co-written in 1989 with a photo journalist, Stephen Mezaros (1952-2022) who covered the conflicts in El Salvador in 1984 and mistakenly returned in 1989. As an undergrad at UCLA, Van Kirk wrote for the Daily Bruin, booked bands and comedians for Kerckhoff Coffee House and started a student art gallery on campus. From 1983-1997, she curated and directed contemporary art galleries in Los Angeles. She has been on the board of the Palm Springs Writers Guild since 2020 and is currently the President. She enjoys staying active with fellow screenwriters through critique groups..
