Hi Everyone!
I am Ludivine Allegue, and I am so happy to share that my short Animation screenplay “Spinzone” made the Quarterfinals of the Stage 32 + DramaBox Screenwriting Competition.
There are many reasons why this means a lot to me. I joined Stage 32 fourteen years ago! Back in 2012, I was a visual artist making video art pieces, with a strong desire to bring painting to life through animation. I had no idea how to get there, but I felt that Stage 32 was a good place to start exploring that path.
Since my last post in the Introduce Yourself Lounge, I have trained in TV script writing with a focus on international co-productions. On Stage 32, I have received extremely useful feedback from top managers and producers and I regularly attend insightful webinars to continue learning.
Today, my animated short screenplay “Spinzone” has been selected in six international screenwriting competitions across the US, the UK, and Spain. I am deeply touched that this story resonates with people from diverse backgrounds. I want to write stories that move people, make them feel and think, wherever they are, while diving into what brings us together.
Congratulations to all quarterfinalists and thank you Stage 32 + Dramabox!

Hi Ludivine Allegue, it’s so wonderful to see you here again, and congratulations on Spinzone making the Quarterfinals. That’s an incredible achievement!!
I love hearing about your journey from visual artist to animation writer, and how intentional you’ve been about learning, growing, and building toward this moment over the years. There’s something really special about seeing that kind of long-term commitment come full circle.
As you continue building on this momentum, I’d encourage you to stay active in the Animation Lounge (https://www.stage32.com/lounge/animation) and the Screenwriting Lounge (https://www.stage32.com/lounge/screenwriting). Both are great spaces to share your process, connect with collaborators, and be part of conversations around animated storytelling and international co-productions.
What has been the most surprising or rewarding part of seeing Spinzone resonate in this way?
Thank you so much for your support and encouragement!
Ashley Renée Smith, the most rewarding part for me is seeing how my screenplay resonates with diverse audiences. Understanding where I belong as a screenwriter required a thorough assessment of my work, and “Spinzone” is the result. It builds on my past work while pointing to what I want to do next.
Kevin Jackson, thank you for asking! Next stop is the Skyline Film Festival in Spain (I am based in Madrid). It is a short film festival (Goya Awards qualifying), where “Spinzone” is a finalist. I plan to meet independent producers there.
A few months ago, Evan Anglin (to whom I sent a written pitch) also encouraged me to explore how it could be developed as a feature, echoing my sense that the story has that potential. So I’m working on it!
