The Suchness of Heni and Eddie
(
Documentary
by Rosemary Lee (ResCen/Bristol University) (Documentary)
Co-director "the Suchness of Heni and Eddie" is an interactive DVD that reveals both the making and the performance of Rosemary Lee’s "the Suchness of Heni and Eddie". This hybrid performance/lecture dem un-picks and exposes the layers of exploration within the choreographer’s and the performers’ creative processes. Intimacies, subtleties and fruitful accidents are revealed as the audience witness the dancers’ thought processes and physical challenges, and hear the struggles and discoveries of the choreographer Rosemary Lee. Simultaneously an intimate duet between the dancers, Eddie Nixon and Henrietta Hale, unfolds before the audience’s eyes.
"Hale and Nixon were mesmerising, transparent and mysterious all at once....
Somehow Lee has got them to a place where they are not just dancing, but also thinking in unison" Donald Hutera, Dance Theatre Journal
Sama
(
Film (short)
by Ludivine Allegue
Director “Sama” is a transcendental dance created in the 13th century by the poet Rumi and most commonly performed by whirling dervishes.
This short film was realized in collaboration with Shahrokh Moshkin Ghalam (former pensionnaire at the Théâtre National de la Comédie Française). It draws the viewer into the center of the dance. The viewer becomes the dancer and his/her/their experience becomes a sama.
The original music was composed by Imen Tnani and Juhamahat (aka Kar-taj).
