Anu Sukhdial is a South Asian, 50+ year old writer who has been fascinated by movies and storytelling ever since she watched her first Bollywood film at the Neyveli Park Club at the age of six. Born in South India, she emigrated to the US when she was nine, and spent the next thirty years living in culturally diverse, racially mixed neighborhoods in Washington DC, Berkeley/Oakland, and San Jose/Silicon Valley, before settling into family life in Stillwater, a small, but rapidly growing university town in Oklahoma (and the setting of a recent Matt Damon film). Anu’s immigrant upbringing, her decade-long professional career in the tech industry, and her identity as a first-generation Indian American Hindu mother inform her stories focused on female ambition, immigrant assimilation/integration, and intergenerational parenting, learning, and hope.
Anu holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Economy with a minor in French from UC Berkeley, an MBA from Stanford University, and a Professional Programs in Screenwriting certificate from the UCLA School of Theatre, Film and Television. She speaks several languages, including French, Hindi and Tamil, is a 80's pop music nerd, volunteers time to promote writing and the arts to kids/youth in her community, and has flown more than a million miles (!), having travelled extensively throughout the Far East as a former tech executive.
Tabitha Drowning Budget: $100K - $1M | Drama When a recently promoted tech CEO discovers she must settle sexual harassment allegations against her former boss by female staff at the company, she grapples with her inner demons and darkest secrets in her quest to uncover the truth – about her company, and herself.
