Hello, my name is Sheree Scates. I am 42 years young. I am currently a 4th grade intervention math teacher. I wish I would have went to a college specifically for screenwriting, to learn the ends and outs of the entertainment world. However, I seen it as such an unobtainable impossible goal, I chose the safer option and decided to teach. My passion is and has always been writing. I am a creative, it's in my DNA. I can be driving, cleaning, or working and an idea will just hit me out of nowhere. I can see the whole scene play out in my head. I love taking a small idea and molding it into a whole story. Creating characters and different personalities and situations they have to overcome. I started out writing skits and plays for my church. Once I saw how well people responded to my work I started (B4K) Built 4 Kingdom Productions and begin putting on stage plays for my community. I was blessed enough to begin to have sold out shows. Just when I was coming into my element COVID hit. That was a huge hit not just to me but the whole world. The fire in me was burning so fiecely I started to think outside of the box of stage plays. I decided to do short films with my family. I got on Amazon bought me a camera spent endless hours on YouTube to try and learn how to work it. I begin to record short films. Producing something that came from one small thought was like medicine to me. It made me feel complete. I feel in love with screen writing. It is everything I never knew I wanted. There was no turning back. Now I am excited and ready to pursue my dream full time, whole heartedly, and without fear. My job has allowed me the flexibility to write during Fall, Christmas, Spring, and Summer break and anytime in between. Prayerfully, stage 32, the connections I make, and with the help of God I will achieve my goal.
