SYNOPSIS:
Fourteen-year-old Sport McAdams and his eight-year-old brother, Oliver, are left to fend for themselves after their single mother falls into a coma following a hit-and-run. Believing she abandoned them, Sport vows to keep them together—and solvent—by any means necessary. Desperate to pay overdue bills, he falls prey to manipulative predators, Sid and his sadistic brother Ted, who exploit him through a sex trafficking ring. As Sport navigates trauma, betrayal, and violence, he clings to his younger brother and his dream of becoming a writer. With unexpected help, Sport exposes the predators and reclaims his dignity—emerging not just as a survivor, but as a poet.
