Alaric S. Rocha is a director, writer, and producer who specializes in bold, genre-blending stories that straddle the line between art house and grindhouse. With a deep love for practical effects, gritty aesthetics, and subversive storytelling, Alaric’s work combines horror, comedy, and sci-fi to tackle political, philosophical, and emotional themes. His films have screened at top-tier festivals including Sitges, Dances With Films, Chicago International, and Morbido.
Alaric holds an MFA in Film & Media Arts from DePaul University and has taught courses in directing, screenwriting, media production, and Mexican film history. He is currently developing several independent features.
Rooted in Midwestern sensibilities and proud of his Mexican heritage, Alaric brings humor, humanity, and a filmmaker’s eye to everything he does—from classroom to campsite. He is currently on faculty at Ithaca College, where he carries on the legacy of Rod Serling by helping the next generation of storytellers find their voice and use it with purpose.
