Hi everyone!
I’m Sarah Saleh, an Egyptian filmmaker and screenwriter. I graduated from the German University in Cairo with a degree in Filmmaking and have experience as an Assistant Director, Script Reader, and Video Creator. My passion lies in developing stories, especially for film and animation, and I have a deep love for DC Comics — I’m currently working on original scripts and story concepts that explore forgotten characters in fresh ways.
I’m always excited to connect with like-minded creatives, collaborate, exchange ideas, and grow as a filmmaker. Looking forward to learning from this great community!

Thank you so much for the warm welcome, Maurice Vaughan! I really appreciate you sharing the blog — I’m excited to explore Stage 32 and connect with other creatives. As for my favorite DC superhero, I’d have to say Black Canary! I’ve always loved her strength, leadership, and the way her story weaves music into her heroism. How about you — who’s your favorite?

Thank you so much for the warm welcome, Geoff Hall! I appreciate it — life in Cairo has been good, and I’m keeping busy. At the moment, I’m working on developing a sci-fi mystery feature script and an animated short film. Both projects have been exciting challenges, and I’m really enjoying the process. What about you — what are you currently working on?

Sarah Saleh hi again, it great to hear life is good. How do you find working between live-action and animation?
I’m working on a feature called Seeing Rachel. It’s a story about human trafficking. I’m a writer-director with a side order of producer. It’s currently in development, so we are looking for development finance.

So very nice to meet you Sarah Saleh. Sounds like we have a lot in common. My daughter and I are total DC buffs (the decor in our bonus room is ridiculous!) and we grew up reading the comics and watching the shows. It's definitely influenced my work. Congrats on yours!

Hi Geoff Hall, great to hear from you! Seeing Rachel sounds like such a powerful and important project — I wish you all the best with development and securing financing.
Working between live-action and animation has been such a rewarding experience for me. Each medium has its own unique challenges, but I really enjoy how both allow for different ways to tell stories and connect with audiences.
I’d love to hear more about Seeing Rachel and your journey with it!

Hi Leonardo Ramirez , so nice to meet you too! I love hearing that — it sounds like we definitely have a lot in common. A DC-themed bonus room sounds amazing, honestly! I grew up on the comics and shows as well, and they’ve had a huge influence on my work.
Thanks so much for the kind words — and congrats on all your creative projects too! Looking forward to staying connected.

Hi Chiara Torrisi , thank you so much for the warm welcome! I’d be happy to share a bit — the animated short is called Shadow’s Quest. It follows the journey of a young girl’s shadow as it ventures into a strange and unsettling world, searching for a cure to save its owner. It’s a 2D animated project with a mix of mystery and emotion, and I’m really excited about how it’s coming together!
I’d love to hear about what you’re working on too.

Likewise, Sarah Saleh. And I just read your bio which says that you read for the Nashville Film Festival. That's where I live! And what's interesting is that the screenplay that I submitted to the the pitchfest last year has a scene that takes place in Egypt. What are the odds! Yes, please do stay in touch!

Also, I have to say, I’m a massive DC fan too, so I absolutely love that you’re developing scripts around those lesser-known characters. There’s so much potential in that universe just waiting to be reimagined.

What are the odds, Leonardo Ramirez ! I love that your screenplay has a scene set in Egypt — such a fun coincidence. And it’s great that you’re based in Nashville, since I’ve been reading for the Nashville Film Festival. It’s always nice when creative paths cross like this!
