The premise immediately caught my attention because it explores two devastating realities at the same time: facing your own mortality while also grieving the gradual loss of someone you love. Alzheimer's creates a unique kind of heartbreak because the person is physically present while parts of the relationship slowly disappear.
I also think stories like this remind us that some of the most powerful drama doesn't come from large external events but from deeply human experiences that many people can relate to.
Looking forward to watching Tuscany Grill and seeing how The Waiting Room series continues to explore these emotional and reflective themes.
Oghenekevwe Ajueyitsi, thank you for the acknowledgment! The shorts require a lot of planning, but they are so much fun to do! Our biggest concern is having to find new actors for each one. So far we have been very lucky...Ken has done a fantastic job coaching each actor before the shoots...
I really appreciate your comments Abhijeet Aade. As a physician it is tough watching patients slowly deteriorate over the years. I have so many interactions to draw on. I will be doing shorts on the many Vets I have in my practice also. So many tales... Many of course are pure fiction... The venue lends itself to many...many stories...
Thank you so much Robin, as usual! It is great to hear from you. We have 2 more episodes completed, The Grabber will be released this week and The Train will be released the following week. This weekend we will be shooting 3 episodes. The Train is based on true events from a very good friend of mine who was a train engineer for many years...I think you will enjoy it. Very sad story...
I am so pleased Luciano Nazario that watching it made you cry...I have achieved my objective...LOL. Thank you for your comments. Kenny did a great job with the part...
Curt Samlaska Curt, I think that's what gives your stories authenticity. As a physician, you've witnessed so many real human struggles, emotions, and life transitions that most writers only encounter through research. The veteran stories especially sound fascinating because there are so many untold experiences behind every individual. Looking forward to seeing more of these shorts and the different stories that emerge from your practice.
Thank you Abhijeet. I really appreciate your comments. I also spent 14 years in the military and was deployed to set up telemedicine in Bosnia as part of Operation Joint Endeavor. That experience led to my second book, Terminal Cascade. I have had a very, very rich life and I wouldn't change anything. Joining the military was the best thing I ever did, and the things I got to do and see are unmeasurable. I wish you could experience my conversations with my Vets...the stories they tell. There is no better classroom on life than a physician's exam room.
