I’m thrilled to share that the official trailer for my debut short film THE MISSTEP is now live!
This psychological thriller began as a concept written with passion, and it became my first work as a director, a dream come true.
Created in collaboration with Filmmaking Lisboa, featuring the brilliant cinematography of Richard Osborne and a powerful lead performance by Joana Raio, this story has come to life thanks to talent, teamwork, and support.
- Premiering this Friday at the iconic BFI Screening Rooms in London, our first screening, crowned by our very first Laurel.
- Live Streaming Event: July 17th, hosted by Kay Ross and Owl Echo Entertainment, for Stage 32 Meet Up; more details coming soon!
I want to express my deepest gratitude to the Stage 32 community. Your advice, encouragement, and generosity throughout this journey have been truly invaluable. Every post I read and every piece of insight you shared helped guide me forward and gave me the confidence to make this film happen.
Thank you for believing in independent voices and for helping me be heard.

I looked into VIMEO, and you can post videos on it that you can generate some money on through a rental agreement. However, the all knowing AI states: Yes, putting your film on Vimeo can affect your chances of securing a traditional distribution deal, especially if it's publicly available and not password-protected. Distribution rights if a film is freely available online, a distributor might be less inclined to invest in acquiring the distribution rights, as the film has already been exposed to an audience, potentially diminishing its exclusive appeal. If your film is easily accessible, it increases the risk of illegal copying and distribution, which could deter potential buyers. A film that's been readily available might be perceived as having less commercial value compared to one that's been kept exclusive for the distribution market. Thought you might be interested in this Sandra! Thoughts?

Hey Curt Samlaska. Thank you for your analysis. It all depends on your goals. That's why I don't use YouTube to showcase my film. I use Vimeo with a link. Only people with a link can watch the film. It isn't open to everybody. But my goal isn't to make money with visualizations. I am using Vimeo also because it is the number one platform festivals consider. I hope this helps.

To all of you: Your support and guidance have meant the world to me during this journey.
I’m thrilled to invite you to the LIVE screening of The Misstep, my directorial debut and a true passion project—on July 17 at 12pm PST / 7pm WEST, streaming via Owl Echo Entertainment’s YouTube, hosted by the amazing Kay Ross.
It’s more than a thriller. It’s a thank-you letter in film form. And right after the screening, we’ll dive into a heartfelt Q&A with our amazing cast and crew to talk about the challenges, lessons, and what’s next.
Stage 32 has been my creative home, and this event is my way of sharing the outcome of everything I’ve learned from you.
