Hi and thanks for checking out my Stage 32 profile!
I am Creative & Executive Director of my own production co., Dacian Wolf Productions, where we develop and produce narrative, documentary, literary, and educational projects. I also coach actors and work with writers on 'writing for actors.'
I am a former Lecturing Professor of Acting and Movement at Pace University, NYC, and hold a BFA in Dance & Theater, an MBA in Accounting, and an MA in Statecraft and National Security Affairs.
I've also served as Director of IWP Media, the multi-media development, production, and distribution wing of the Institute of World Politics in Washington, DC, where I developed and produced a variety of projects, including online courses, edu-docs, podcasts, and more.
WRITING My main focus is on character-driven action drama. It's a tone and dynamic to which I seem to gravitate naturally as a writer, as an audience member, and as an actor.
ACTING I am a Meisner-trained bi-lingual (English-Romanian) actor. I was initially advised to study acting by Robert McKee at one of his Story seminars as a way to, let’s say, get tactical about my writing. Two and a half years of Esper Studio acting training later… anyway—one of the best investments I’ve ever made. It not only reshaped how I approach story, but also led to over a decade of teaching acting at the university level and in professional settings. Though I haven’t actively pursued acting work in a while, I use the craft every time I write—and every time I teach or coach.
TEACHING THE ACTING CRAFT TO ACTORS AND WRITERS
I love helping actors deepen their work, but I'm just as drawn to supporting writers. I focus on how the acting process can inform writing—how to craft scenes and characters that offer something alive for the performer to play. It's about writing with emotional truth, clear behavior, and space for discovery. That’s why I think writers and actors are bound at the hip—each helps the other find what’s real.
DANCE... MY FIRST LOVE I started my performing arts career as a student at the George Enescu conservatory for the Arts in my native Bucharest, Romania. After arriving in the USA, I continued my studies at the New Jersey School of Ballet. I've toured with the internationally acclaimed Pilobolus Dance Theatre and have taught movement and choreography classes in Argentina, Romania, Moscow, Korea, Japan, Italy, Chile, as well as at many US universities. I've choreographed repertory for universities and dance studios as well as for my own Sebastian Sextet Dance Theatre.
