Introduce Yourself : Weekend Word by Whitney Davis

Whitney Davis

Weekend Word

Hey Stage32 Fam! it’s been such a rewarding experience meeting so many amazing creatives on this platform. I am BLOWN away by the talent that I have been met through pitches, meetings and consultations.

If we haven’t met, let me re-introduce myself: I’m 20-years in the game and still deeply in love with the magic of storytelling. I’m most passionate about writers who have something to say that’s burning in their belly. I love connecting with creators who have lived real life experiences, who don’t look like what they’ve been through and who can bring those varied experiences to life on the page. I like ‘em flawed and funky!

I’ve developed and worked with some of your favs but I’m waiting to hear YOUR story! We’re not waiting for Hollywood to get its act together—Let’s get in the lab and strategize together. If you have a piece of material you want to share hit ya girl, if you want to figure out how to turn that IP collecting dust into a series or feature, hit me up. If you want someone who has network, studio and producing experience, I’m here! Hit up the Stage32 team to book with me. I promise we’ll have a fun and productive time together.

Blessings,

Whitney

Hey, Whitney Davis. I hope you had a great week! Congratulations on being in the game for 20 years!

It's so nice to meet you (in a manner of speaking!). I hope you have a great weekend :)

Hi Whitney. I love how you talk about storytelling and real life experiences. We all have an incredible story to tell of our human experiences huh. Mine is pretty out there, after having a life changing awakening, that took me out of my working for police department into more of a wellbeing based business & sacred music production.

Hello Whitney. I have to say the wording "that’s burning in their belly" is the most interesting metaphor for creative urge I've heard in a while. I always thought of it as "pounding in my brain" and that's because my first grey hair showed up from redrafting to get a story better and better.

Cheers.

Thank you for this powerful and generous post, Whitney Davis! Your passion for storytelling and championing bold, lived-in voices is truly inspiring, and I know so many Stage 32 members have gained invaluable insight from your pitches and consultations.

We’re incredibly grateful to have you sharing your wisdom and experience with the community, your encouragement to take action and build even while the industry is shifting is exactly what so many creatives need to hear right now. Thank you for being such a vital part of the Stage 32 ecosystem!

Chicken Road

It’s fun seeing how one word inspires so many creative thoughts. I also spend some time on Chicken Road where I just enjoy simple games. Reading and gaming both help me relax.
