As a former Army helicopter mechanic who worked on Air Force One and Two, and someone who grew up in the Deep South, I’ve experienced a side of the world few ever glimpse -- from the heights of presidential power to the grit of small-town maintenance jobs in places steeped in history and haunted by dark pasts. I channel those experiences into grounded, character-driven stories that prioritize authentic human struggle and soulful narratives over traditional horror scares.

Thank you for your service, Mark Deuce. My dad was in the Army. I grew up in a small town in NC (DE and VA too). That's pretty cool you worked on Air Force One and Two.

Mark Deuce thank you for your service as well! I was in the Air Force in Alaska (basic at Lackland, tech school at Lowry, then oversees long tour in Elmendorf). I only did four years (for the GI Bill) but the way it helped me was as a human being. At the risk of oversharing, I was a punk kid who was unfocused and wayward. The military helped me to grow up, be an adult, and learn discipline and purpose. Part of the reason I can say I stay focused on writing night after night after a long day at work is due to what I learned. Experiences also helped broaden my worldview. I went TDY all over the states, I went to Canada, Japan, and Singapore. I really enjoyed it all.

Appreciate that Patrick "PK" Koepke I was a Chinook Mechanic 67U10. Basic at Ft. Dix NJ, AIT at Ft. Eustis Virginia. Ft. Lewis and Korea after that. I got some college in the Army , took an English course in Korea by a Professor whose name was Dr. Yay. I failed in English at High School and got a B with him. Great times! Got to talk to many who were Vientam Vets who were about to retire and man the stories really shaped my life when it comes to war and writing.
