Hi everyone!
After lurking here for a few days, I’ve finally worked up the courage to post in 'Introduce Yourself'. So… here goes nothing!
I’m an ex-corporate girl, early 30s. After nearly seven years in the corporate world, I finally quit last year to focus on writing. I’ve always been deeply curious about literature, especially English Lit, so curious that I went and got my master's in it… which I sadly never got to use. Until now.
These days, I’ve shifted my full attention to writing, and honestly? I’ve never felt freer. Writing has become my comfort zone. I’ve already finished two novels and am working on a third. That said, I’m still new to this, so I don't think they're quite where I want them to be yet.
That’s why I’m here...excited to learn from all of you as I go. Looking forward to connecting.

Oh now this is the post! Congratulations on prioritizing your stories! You’re my favorite type of storyteller. You know all about risks and chased down your purpose. Find me on the exec services side if you ever need support in your journey! I’m here for you.

Welcome Ananya Maity what an exciting transition. I did the same in 2024 and have been travelling the world since, writing my projects. I can't imagine not having done it now even though I wondered if I was making the biggest mistake of my life. The whole process has been transformational in all areas of my life. I hope you enjoy an equally fulfilling journey yourself.

Ananya Maity Welcome and honestly, that’s a big step stepping away from something stable to follow writing seriously.
I like what you said about writing becoming your comfort zone that usually means you’re already connected to the process in a real way. Finishing two novels is no small thing either.
It’s a learning curve for all of us, but being in that phase of exploration is where a lot of growth happens.
Looking forward to seeing how your work evolves.

Three writers I highly recommend reading about, if that's your thing, to understand their way of working to produce a story, are:
James Patterson
David Baldacci
Patricia Cornwell (her first Kay Scarpetta novel, Postmortem, has the best first chapter I've ever read)
I'm currently reading, Rodney Stone by Arthur Conan Doyle. It has the next best first chapter I've read to date.
Here's a fun fact for you: I finished, And Then There Was One, by Agatha Christie last year. Its original title will make your jaw drop, but what's most amusing is, the story was a virtual cut-and-paste for making, Knives Out: Glass Onion.
