Hello Stage 32 Community,
I’m Joe Alexander, a Film Director, DOP, and Creative Director based out of Dubai. I head up a production company called RSN8, and my primary focus is on visually striking indie filmmaking that prioritizes genuine emotional conflict over superficial plot devices.
It was a busy 2025 on the festival front for me. My film DETERMiNED picked up Best Film, Best Director, and Best Cinematography, my 10-minute short Vera took home several awards, and What We Leave Behind won Best Screenplay and was an official selection at HollyShorts.
Right now, I am heavily focused on developing a new web series and pushing into the next phase of production. I'm here to expand my network globally, talk shop about cinematography and directing, and find driven writers and producers who are interested in building compelling narratives.

Web series + emotional conflict + visual storytelling – that’s exactly where I live as a writer.
I’d love to read a pilot outline or a few scenes from your series and send back a sample scene in your tone. No pitch. Just proof of concept.

Your focus on visually driven storytelling grounded in real emotional conflict really stands out. That combination of directing and cinematography is a powerful one, especially in the indie space.
I’d definitely recommend spending time in the Cinematography Lounge (https://www.stage32.com/lounge/cinematography) and the Filmmaking Lounge (https://www.stage32.com/lounge/directing). Both are great spaces to talk shop, share insights from your experience, and connect with writers, directors, and producers who are actively building projects.
Also curious, did you happen to find Stage 32 through Ashraf Nahlous’s WhatsApp group for creatives in Dubai? We’ve had quite a few members join through that network recently.
