Hey cine-friends! I just came up with a DIY fog solution. And by that, I mean problem fix, not an actual liquid.
It's a USB powered personal fog machine if you have a good sized refillable vape lying around that you really shouldn't be using because your lungs will hate you for it. Instead of sucking on the thing, open the air intake vents wide open, trigger it and gently blow into it! By crikey, you can fog a room to way below VFR in a few good, deep breaths, without sucking it though you poor alveoli.
Anyone else have cheap, unorthodox, tricks you care to share? Lay em on me, baby!

Ha! I love the ingenuity here. Filmmaking is basically 50 percent problem-solving and 50 percent “what do I have in my house right now that could work.”
I’ve had good luck with:
• Ultrasonic humidifiers + distilled water
• Water-based haze in a small party fogger
• Dry ice + hot water for low fog (use gloves, dry ice is dangerous!)
• Aroma diffusers for super subtle haze when you just need to cut light a bit
DIY solutions are half the fun of indie filmmaking!
