So, I am a producer-fixer from India and in this business for a decade now. Pre-covid, lives were smoother and I would get multiple shoot enquiries all year round. Did some really big gigs with big brands and production houses. But post-covid, something changed and shifted and things became slower than before. I don't pick up local shoots as their budget are peanuts and most of them are quite unprofessional. So, all my clientele is foreign based. On and off, I get projects and somehow the year passes by. But I really want to be soaked with work all year round, like before.
What am I missing? I have joined multiple What'sApp groups, registered myself on almost all the forums, have a website, portfolio updated. Networking as much as possible. Yes, I can't attend international forums physically because of travel and visa issues. But I am regularly trying to connect to new filmmakers. Where am I going wrong and why less work is coming? And what's the solution then?
I would love to network here with as many filmmakers as possible. And hope, with every conversation something comes out and we could work together. But maybe I am missing out on something that you all can advice. Any help, in any direction will truly be appreciated. Here's my website if anyone wants to see : https://mumbaifixers.co.in

My biggest tip is keep networking/building relationships on Stage 32, Sagar Srivastava. I live in North Carolina, and I've gotten a lot of jobs, script requests, etc. from members in different countries this way.
Here are some blogs on networking: www.stage32.com/blog/tags/networking-41
And Stage 32 has a Job Board that gets updated regularly (www.stage32.com/find-jobs).
