My name is Melisa Zeynep Avcı. I was born in Kayseri and graduated from TED Kayseri College, which laid the foundation for my passion for cinema, storytelling, and communication. I pursued my undergraduate studies at Bahçeşehir University with a full scholarship, completing a double major in Film & Television and Advertising with high honors. Currently, I’m continuing my academic journey in the same university’s graduate program, focusing on Film and Television (with thesis).
Over the past few years, I’ve had the opportunity to work in a wide range of roles within the film and television industry. From being an assistant writer on the Netflix series "Adsız Aşıklar", to working as a production assistant on GAIN’s "FER", and assisting in art coordination for Disney+’s series "Reminder", I’ve experienced the creative and logistical aspects of the field. I also worked as a coordinator on Netflix Turkey’s "Talent Map" initiative, helping design and implement educational programs aimed at growing the next generation of talent in the industry.
I directed and wrote a short independent film titled "Bir İnsan Neden Kaçar?", and have participated in several prestigious international festivals, including Cannes (Short Film Corner), Berlinale, and the Sarajevo Film Festival (multiple years). These experiences deeply shaped my perspective as a storyteller and creative professional.
In addition to my creative work, I’ve also been involved in brand communications, most recently working with L’Oréal’s Maybelline New York as an Advocacy & Influence Specialist. I’ve always been passionate about blending creative content with meaningful strategy.
I love exploring different ways to tell stories—whether it’s through film, writing, or photography. I’m currently developing new projects while also continuing to grow through education, both as a student and potentially, one day, as a lecturer. My dream is to contribute to the future of Turkish and international storytelling by blending local narratives with global perspectives.
