GENRE: Fantasy, Comedy
LOGLINE:

A whitewashed teenager in search of his racial identity gets recruited into a Black escapist microcosm while touring his parents' college.

SYNOPSIS:

HIGH SCHOOL, an upbeat Black teen from the suburbs of Virginia, arrives for a tour at his parents alma mater, Diversity University, an extremely progressive university in DC that prides itself on being culturally inclusive. Upon his arrival, he meets the school's self-appointed "Head of Artificial Student Affairs," BROTHA BOB, a White Sociology major who offers him a personal tour. High School is initially hesitant, since he thinks his overprotective mother may have hired Brotha Bob, but he consents. While on the tour, High School discovers that Diversity is not as "progressive" as it claims, but is instead the complete opposite: nooses hang from the ceilings, students are racist, and there is a great lack of minorities. Filled with discomfort, High School abandons Brotha Bob's tour and runs into an artsy, Black Literature major, BALDWIN. After quizzing High School on his Black knowledge, Baldwin decides that the teen is in desperate need of a Black culture intervention. With this, he takes High School to a surreal underground located in Diversity's basement called Niggaville: where the Black kids go to escape Diversity's racism. While there, High School is exposed to the various subcultures of Black college life including Niggaville’s hypocritical pastor, KING KOON, the infamous hypeman, CODESWITCH, and the Queen of Niggaville’s Black Market, BRANDI NU. High School soon realizes how deprived he’s been of his own Black awakening. Out of sympathy, Baldwin appoints him as Niggaville's first intern to help him find his true Black self. Most of Niggaville responds well to this except Baldwin's best friend, TARIKA, a no-nonsense Pre-law major who is suspicious of High School's intentions. Also suspicious of High School is JUDGE X, a Poly-sci senior and the founder/leader of Niggaville. Judge X immediately gets his omnipotent assistant, TINY to dig up everything she can find on High School. Later that day in Judge X’s courtroom, High School causes a scene when he objects in defense of Diversity's self-hating football star, TYGA WOODZ. This compels Judge X to reveal to all funding from Diversity's once existing Black Student Union. After High School reveals his true intentions, Judge X makes a deal with him: he can only keep his position as Niggaville’s intern if he gets his mom to convince the board to sign off on Niggaville’s revolutionary plan to become its’ own school within Diversity. Despite his intense fear of his mother, High School agrees and receives a temporary Black card that grants him access to Niggaville. That night he returns home to tell his domestic father, TREY and his overbearing mother that their alma mater (but secretly Niggaville) is now his top choice. The pilot ends with High School feeling excited to start his new internship, but fearful of what his whitewashed parents will think when they find out he’s joined the rebellious underground working against their beloved alma mater.
