Alex is an actor, filmmaker, and Navy veteran originally from Angeles City, Pampanga, Philippines. His father was an American who served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War, while his mother was a Filipino citizen from Biri, Northern Samar Islands, Philippines.
After his honorable time in the Navy, Alex moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting and attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. He later completed a Bachelor's Degree in Film Production at the Los Angeles Film School. He also became part of the inaugural class of the AT&T/VME Media Fellowship Program under the wing of Warner Media.
Alex's filmmaking career began with his directorial debut and first written short film, “COPE," which won the Best First-time Screenwriter award of Prestige at the Vegas Movie Awards. He immediately wrote, produced, and directed his second short film, "The Meet Up," right after, and received numerous awards, including Best Short Film at the LA Short Awards and the Canadian Short Film Festival.
Alex adapted an original stage play into a short film titled "Anything for My Mother," which received several nominations and awards, including the Best Director Silver Award at the Anaheim International Film Festival and Best Student Film 2nd-Runner Up at AFMX New Mexico. His latest short film, "INCONDICIONAL," was selected to screen at the East LA Film Festival. The film later became a semifinalist for Best Short Film at both the Los Angeles Film Awards and Flicker’s Rhode Island International Film Festival.
His thesis short film, “GUILT,” which he wrote and directed, was nominated for Best Director and won Best Horror/Thriller Short at the Canadian Screen Awards, qualifying for the Toronto International Nollywood Film Festival. The film was also nominated for Best Original Score at the prestigious International Sound and Film Music Festival, which was screened in Samobor, Croatia, in 2024.
