My name is Albert MENELIK TJAMAG. I was born in Yaoundé, Cameroon, and have been living in France for 40 years.
I am an urban singer, songwriter, composer and musical producer. I have recorded and released several singles and five studio albums through Sony Music France, many of which have been certified gold and even double platinum.
To date, I have sold two million records in France, Africa and across Francophone countries.
In 1996, I won the “Best New Artist” award at the French Victoires de la Musique (the French Grammys).
More than 20 years after my first hit singles, I continue to perform in France and throughout the world. For example, for my last project, I teamed up with the Dijon Bourgogne Symphonic Orchestra to perform rap versions of classical music standards.
I am also taking part in a large multi-artist nationwide show (+22 shows) that was performed in France’s Zenith venues and the Accor Hotel Arena to end 2019 and end 2021.
I have been working in the entertainment industry for the past ten years as an Artistic Director and Director for short programs and documentaries aired on TV5 Monde and Canal Plus International.
Writing has been my favorite activity for over thirty years. I enjoy captivating the audience through the stories in my songs. I wanted to perfect my skills in the field of screenwriting at the CEEA (European Conservatory of Audiovisual Writing) where I followed a course in literary direction (writing coaching and dramaturgy development for authors). I founded Fiction Faction. This production company, with ties to France and Cameroon, was created to produce African documentaries and fiction.
