Inspiration for this fascinating cultural quilt came from thousands of interviews conducted nationwide during a period of 20 years, by Culture Clash.

In Between the Gutter and the Stars

FANNIE (30s), an actress dreaming of stardom, can barely eke by in a vacuum of emotional and financial hopelessness. She doesn't realize that the curve balls that life is pitching her way bring extraordinary gifts (including the possibility of love), if only she'd step up to bat. In her life is DANIEL (30s), an unusual paramour, who is the marvelously balanced embodiment of his male and female personae. However, his self-confidence is challenged by his inability to woo Fannie. Together, they make an unusual pairing, but one that is perfectly suited for each other despite their charming 'oddities.'

The Journey Ahead
Film Screenplay and Story by THE JOURNEY AHEAD is the story of two traveling companions: Nerea (13) and Max (60), both of whom have lost their ways and together embark on a journey that transcends human limitations. This is also the story of Belén, who, while in pursuit of her daughter, Nerea, must come to terms with certain truths about herself and her relationship with her new love, Marcos. The feature film, starring MIchael Madsen and Yancey Arias, explores the revelation, forgiveness, and embracing of our greatest sins--our fears created in the false stories that we spin to both hold ourselves back and create lives of effort, misery, and turmoil. It is also a reflection of hope and redemption, reminding us that when we allow ourselves to be bonded and experience love, the extraordinary is not only possible but downright magical.
