Steven Shehori

Steven Shehori is a comedy writer/director/performer, a 3-time Gemini Award loser (Canada's Emmys), and a 3-time Canadian Comedy Award winner. He’s actually been nominated for 12 Canadian Comedy Awards, so he’s happy he finally won a couple, dammit. Since moving to Los Angeles, he has served as a senior comedy and pop culture writer for The A.V. Club, Vulture, and Macaulay Culkin's 'Bunny Ears,' and teamed up with Paul Feig on his 'Save Other Space' campaign.

Steven has a 20-year-and-counting history with The Second City organization as a writer, director, performer, producer, instructor, and publicist. He was the creator and host of 'Character Night,' the longest-running weekly show in Second City Toronto history. He served as a producer on the Second City / Just For Laughs co-production of 'Sarah Silverman & Friends,' featuring comedy legends Sarah Silverman, John Mulaney, Louis C.K., and David Cross. His critically acclaimed Second City production 'Stephen Harper: The Musical!' became the first stage play ever produced at Just for Laughs. To boot, Steven’s boutique P.R. company Sweat Equity Publicity has provided publicity for countless Second City Toronto, Hollywood, and Chicago productions since 2002, including the 2018 SCTV Reunion (set to be a feature-length documentary directed by Martin Scorsese).

After 10 years as a senior comedy writer and director for 'Naked News' (writing/directing over 700 episodes), Steven served as a senior news and comedy writer for 'George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight' (Canada's late night talk show), 'This Hour Has 22 Minutes' (Canada's SNL), some sitcoms you haven't heard of, and 11 national award shows. He also contributed segments to 'Definitely Not The Opera' (Canada's 'This American Life'), and starred in the Hulu documentary series 'Naked News Uncovered.'
