About Marcos

Marcos is a photographer and filmmaker born in Dean Funes, Córdoba province, Argentina. Since he was a kid, he was passionate about photography, cinema, and travel.

He has a b. degree in film and television and a technical degree as a technical producer in audiovisual media, both graduated from the Cordoba National University.

The university awarded him a scholarship to study at the University of Texas in the United States in 2013. There he worked at KLRU TV on the Lone Star Emmy-winning program “Arts in Context” for PBS in the United States. He also studied advanced editing with Christopher Roldan (“The Tree of Life” and “To the Wonder” editor) In 2017 he took part in the film “Rojo” starring Darío Grandinetti, where he worked as a production assistant and took still photography. He is also part of the photography team for the telefilm “KM674, Voltear Obregón”.

In 2018 and 2019, he moved to New Zealand, where he carried out a wide range of work, including audiovisual coverage of cultural events of various kinds. Later he traveled to Southeast Asia, where he made a documentary photographic coverage along with written stories and chronicles for the New Zealand magazine «Latidos Magazine».

In 2020, he finished his first documentary film, “Soñando Martín”, (Dreaming Martin). The film festival Lift-Off Global Network-New York 2021 selected the film along with the Cordoba Film Festival. The doc film was released in Cinemas Theatres all over Argentina, including the Gaumont Cinema Theatre in Buenos Aires.

    Documentary by Marcos Sanzano Director-Cinematographer A group of artists and friends of the late painter Martín Santiago meet to make his dream come true of his home becoming an art museum and cultural space for the town of Deán Funes, Córdoba. The group is led by the artist's disciple, the painter Mario Sanzano, who heads the initiative. He is also accompanied by artists from the area and friends of Martín Santiago. Despite not having official resources, they carry out the feat of recovering the work and turning the space into a cultural center for the city.
