SYNOPSIS:
Welcome to the Yard Supply! The place where you can find anything for your home improvement needs, including the labor!
THE LOT is a cinematic mock-umentary work-comedy and a spin on how a tight-knit collective group of day laborers consistently struggle to make a living wage in front of a home improvement megastore known as The Yard Supply.
This Latino character-driven ‘Office’esque situational comedy dives into the social inequalities plaguing this unique workplace and plays on the inter-politics of not only the employees of the Yard Supply, but also the dollar-to-dollar freelance go-getters who are the Yard’s undocumented day laborers. Set in the metropolis of Los Angeles, a disproportionate city where the rich can be as abnormal as they like and the poor are seemingly the ones with the good and kind hearts. Through their adventures we reveal their clients, their extravagant homes, and their quirky, eccentric LA lifestyles.
It is pure irony tempered with the utmost empathy, and properly set in La La Land. The Lot twists thE tropes of a modern unconventional workplace comedy. This is a show that to presents and breaks theculture stereotypes that inhabit this great city. It is a tight community, and like family, they are all willing to go to the ends of the earth to sustain each other and their loved ones.
