Degree of Comfort Weighted Blanket (2019)
Commercial by Sync Design Inc. Cinematographer/DP Weighted blankets have become more and more popular over the past few years. Not only are they known for improving sleep, but they’ve also been shown to help with certain disorders such as anxiety and ADHD. As a matter of fact, they were originally developed as a type of therapeutics product for special needs individuals. Often used by occupational therapists, these blankets provide deep touch pressure stimulation, a form of tactile sensory input that produces a soothing and calming effect. While each of them is different, most weigh anywhere between 15 and 20 pounds. As far as where the weight comes from, they are typically filled with glass beads or plastic pellets, the latter of which you’d find in a Beanie Baby.
