About Wayne

Wayne Watkins is a theatre producer, director, and acting coach. As Artistic Director of The Enclave Theatre Company and Producer at The Enclave Entertainment Group, Wayne is dedicated to the collaborative nature of theatre and film.

For over 20 years Wayne has coached privately for theatre, film, and television providing a safe haven for actors of all abilities to stretch and explore - from seasoned professionals to young artists just beginning their creative journey. The philosophy of The Enclave is simple. Acting is a state of mind informed by imagination, intelligence, and experience. By creating an environment where those things are encouraged and nurtured, The Enclave will help our artists and our audiences flourish. Most artists may work in solitude. The writer. The painter. The sculptor. Only the actor requires collaboration. A tribe through which they may create - together. No actor is ever alone. Nor should they be. At The Enclave actors, audiences, and students are part of a whole. A creative and fluid unit that tells stories, enlightens, entertains, and constantly pursues truth through the craft of the actor.

The Enclave is a new take on the traditional "acting company." It is comprised of a small group of actors, writers, and directors who share a passion for storytelling. The aim is to create new and daring theatrical work, produce important contemporary and classical work, and develop exciting and topical film, TV, and digital content.

Wayne and his team created The Enclave as an alternative to the typical "acting company." So much of an actor's life, understandably, puts an emphasis on the business of acting. Often, however, this approach becomes somewhat distorted and the actor gets lost in the simple search for work. The Enclave believes the acting must come first. Before you can become proficient at auditioning; before you can understand the nuance of cold reading; before you can be effective in front of the camera or command the stage - you must first be skilled in the craft of an actor and constantly work to hone those skills.
