THE WOLVES THAT LIVE NEXT DOOR

THE WOLVES THAT LIVE NEXT DOOR
By Tony S.

GENRE: Romance, Drama
LOGLINE:

Newlyweds return to her remote hometown where their tender wolf-like love is feared as madness by townspeople who orchestrate her commitment, driving the couple into the wilderness and into legend.

SYNOPSIS:

A legend still whispered over fences, in bars, and around campfires ...

Newly married and fiercely in love, Ulva and Connor return to Wolf Bite, her remote hometown. In the inhibited Adirondack community, their instinctive and intimate bond, expressed in a private wolf-like love language, strikes fearful townspeople as strange and even dangerous. What feels natural and joyful to them unsettles the town.

Neighbors snoop. Rumors spread. Apprehension hardens into suspicion.

Ulva and Connor live in the shadow of her mother’s mysterious disappearance years earlier and awakens old distrust. As the town struggles to interpret the couple’s unconventional closeness, their love is misread as disorder. Curiosity turns to alarm. Alarm turns to intervention.

Life in Wolf Bite becomes untenable when the town quietly arranges Ulva’s commitment to a mental institution for her own protection. Faced with separation and institutionalization, Ulva and Connor refuse to submit to a world that will not accept them. They choose each other and flee into the vast Adirondack wilderness.

Their disappearance fuels the town’s imagination. Rumors and howls in the night transform the couple into a local legend of two lovers who vanish into the forest, leaving Wolf Bite forever haunted by a love it could not comprehend.
