An autobiographical, self-help poetry book chronicles the life of Karlyle Tomms, from growing up lonely and gay in the 1960s on a farm in the rural Ozarks, facing shame by the authoritarian church, abuse at home, and bullying at school to finding self-love and acceptance as an adult. Then, a difficult move to the Texas coastal bend required him to refresh his spiritual principles for returning to and maintaining happiness.
