Aegis For Dreams
(
Drama
(Drama, Period Piece and Biography)
screenwriter This is the story of the relationship between George Washington and his "prodigal son" Alexander Hamilton as they confront crises in America’s war for independence.
This is a character-driven relationship story, rather than a “war movie”. Father-son and larger family themes pervade. The story crests with the interplay of the two men as they attempt to quell mutinies within the American Army, which are finally brought home, literally, to the front steps of Independence Hall. In the story’s climax, it is Washington’s unfailing belief in civilian control of the military – and his unwillingness to surrender to political expediency – that preserves the freedom America had gained on the battlefield.
Works of Mozart (born a year after Hamilton) will serve as the primary soundtrack for this film. Several of the works were written very close in time to the depicted scenes. Highly emotive music worthy of the storylines and, like our country, still a force nearly 250 years later.
