THE GUILD OF INNER SUPERHEROES

THE GUILD OF INNER SUPERHEROES
By Brent Fidler

GENRE: Sci-fi
LOGLINE:

LOGLINE: Five angst-filled teenagers manifest their inner superheroes during a high tech seance while inadvertently creating their evil doppelgängers who battle each other to save the Earth.

TAGLINE: Who would your Inner Superhero be?

SYNOPSIS:

Five teenagers are inspired to invoke their inner superheroes into existence after their English teacher lectures on a historical seance attended by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, where ectoplasmic wish ghosts formed by the collective will of readers’ imaginations appear in photographs.

The teens suffer from adolescent anxieties ranging from social isolation, bulimia, parental and peer pressure, loneliness and the bombardment of current global angsts. Each creates a sketch of their inner superhero that possesses superpowers based on their personal talents and interests, aimed at helping them heal their growing pains. The teens form a society called The Guild of Inner Superheroes. The website goes viral with global teens creating their own inner superheroes and posting videos.

One of the five teens, Michael Kopsa, a geeks physics savant, adapts a Brain Computer Interfacing Device (BCI) that amplifies the brain’s imagination center. The teens conduct a high tech seance aboard the

yacht where Mark Burgess, the groups electrical genius lives. The night skies above the boat are filled with electrically charged aurora borealis along with a meteorite shower. These natural phenomena act as a catalyst, animating not only the teens’s five inner superheroes, but unexpectedly their evil supervillain doppelgängers as well. A quantum vortex sucks the ten supers away before they are discovered by the teens.

The supervillains escape the quantum zone, leaving the superheroes unconscious and trapped in a collapsing black hole. The supervillains return to Earth intent on killing their five teen creators, as both cannot co-exist in the same multiverse beyond an appointed time (The Quantum Paradox). They teleport to the Santa Monica Pier, where they proceed to wreak havoc before pursuing the teens who have sailed to Catalina Island to hide.

The trapped superheroes are able to create a psychic link with the teens while they are unconscious, instructing the Guild of Inner Superheroes to undertake a global meditation to free them. A Battle Royale ensues between the five superheroes and their supervillain counterparts with the fate of the planet hanging in the balance.

During the course of the story, the superheroes interact with the teens and show them the value of friendship, teamwork and love, changing the

trajectory of their lives.
