About Randy

Randy Loveridge’s first foray into the writing world blossomed in college as he excelled at Intro to Fiction Writing. He moved to LA in 1995 to pursue a career as an actor but after years of struggling to get discovered he fell back to what came naturally. Writing.

Randy’s first script, The World Out There landed in the hands of a FOX executive who noted that, “It would be a great companion piece to The OC.” Taking those words to heart Randy continued to write pilots, specs, and features knowing that one day his stories would be brought to life and seen by audiences worldwide. One of his pilots, Allison Road, caught the attention of executive producer Dawn Parouse Olmstead, of Prison Break fame, who said, “You should be getting staffed off this script!”

While sharpening his craft, and working to get representation, he spent days learning from master storyteller Marc Cherry, as Cherry’s executive assistant, on the first season of the runaway phenomenon Desperate Housewives. Randy soaked up the knowledge in the writer’s room. However, tragedy struck during DH’s first season as he was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.

As the MS flare-ups increased Randy transitioned to Post Production on Pushing Daisies, hoping the symptoms would subside and life would be less stressful. It was in Post where Randy learned how to craft and change a story past the script. This not only improved his storytelling ability and writing skills, but also helped him to tell and create a story from both sides of production and post production.

Randy earned his B.A. in Communications from Loras College, in Dubuque, IA and completed UCLA’s inaugural course, Professional Program in Writing for Television, in 2013.
His favorite movie is Raiders of the Lost Ark and his favorite television show is Better Call Saul.
