The Porter is my second film, shot around 2006 or so in Milwaukee. Again, I wrote, directed and starred as Ralph. This was a harder shoot than The Picnic in that a) it was shot indoors so we had to build a set, b) actors seemed to be a little less reliable (my make-up girl had to fill in for a woman who dropped out the night before shooting), and c) it was far more difficult to fill in crew positions. The Picnic is my first film. I wrote the script, directed, and played the main character Ralph. The ultimate aim was to produce a short which has the feel of an early Sennett/Keystone. I don't know if I succeeded per se, but the attempt was enjoyable! This was honestly the easiest and most fun set I've ever been on and I can't say enough about the cast/crew I had the privilege of working with! This is a music video created around a Brew City Bombshaft (a Milwaukee-based male burlesque revue) stage routine. I conceived of the original routine, and produced the video based on that routine. The video features myself, Dick Suture, Jeff Kriesel, Jeremy J Comedian, and Steve Breese as the prisoners; Christee Means Reince, Jessica Fastabend, and Liz Faraglia are the guards. It was filmed by Milwaukee based DP Fjosh Redbeard, and the number features choreography by Amanda Marquardt.
