Roniel Tessler grew up in Potomac, MD, and graduated from the University of Maryland with a theatre degree and concentration in pre-med. After college, he moved to New York to pursue a writing career. In 2016, his pilot, Husky, won the inaugural Black List-ATX Script Competition, and in 2017, it was selected for The Unproduced Table Read, a podcast of Hollywood’s best unproduced screenplays. His first feature, Blue Moon, has received numerous accolades including a Best Screenplay nomination at the 2018 Oklahoma LGBT Film Festival, and was a second round finalist at the 2018 Austin Film Festival. Roniel recently completed his second feature, a gay thriller about the more sinister aspects of social media, and is at work on a TV comedy pilot about a plus-size dance company. In his free time, Roniel loves to go to the theatre, create monthly playlists, and unabashedly sport white Vans.
