LinkedIn

Once upon a time, in a magical land known as Holdenville, young prince Eric arrived to greet the world. He spent the next 18 years growing up in a neighboring village known as Tupelo. After a brief jaunt to a popular higher learning institution, he returned to study and build a life in Ada, one of the largest townships in the area.

While studying, Eric took a position with the local newspaper. Here, he let his creativity bloom by designing advertisements, doing page layouts and even launching a short-lived entertainment magazine.

Realizing his calling with the medium, he set out to work with other newspapers including those in Houston and Arkansas. It was in the latter that Eric returned to writing – a first love – and wrote articles for the Fayetteville Free Weekly and The Morning News.

The renewed writing spark led to recruitment to work with Cherokee Nation Entertainment as a copywriter. Eric wrote copy for collateral, print and radio advertising for Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa, other Cherokee Casinos and Cherokee Nation Cultural Tourism.

While at CNE, the opportunity to produce radio and television commercials for the casinos came up. Jumping at the chance, he worked for three years writing and coordinating various TV productions, as well as working on identity branding for the Nation and the award-winning “Osiyo” Cultural Tourism pieces.

After seven years of journeying, Eric returned home to Ada in 2011. Here, he took a stint within the Chickasaw Nation, working in their Multimedia department as an archivist, learning more about filmmaking and editing. He returned to writing when an Internal Communications writer slot opened up. That same post would take many twists and turns, evolving into the position he currently holds, Creative Content Manager.

Now living in Ada for three years, the prince is learning everything he can about design, photography and filmmaking. Outside of work, Eric also does freelance graphic design, photography and videography.
