I write the silence most people run from.
Born in Rochester, New York, I was raised by a man who made history—my father, the city’s first Black fireman. From him, I inherited a legacy of courage, quiet rebellion, and the belief that barriers are meant to be broken.
Now based in Los Angeles, I create television that doesn’t just entertain—it exposes. My work explores the emotional weight of Black masculinity, the psychology of silence, and the complexity of truth. I’m the creator of GoodPoison.TV, an anthology series streaming on 10+ networks, and currently in production on four original series: White Noise, Tainted, Disquiet Yard, and A Clear Conscience.
I’m also a father—ten sons, eight adopted, one gone too soon. That journey, with all its heartbreak and beauty, gave me eyes for character, grace under fire, and a heart that writes from the inside out.
Armed with degrees in Screenwriting, Educational Psychology, Theology, and Computer Science, I write stories rooted in intellect and lived experience. I’ve taught in classrooms, pastored from pulpits, and counseled through chaos—but writing has always been the thread pulling it all together.
As CEO of Eric Coker Productions and Diversity Film Collaborative, I build platforms for stories that matter. Stories that scare us. Stories that heal us. Stories that refuse to look away.
This isn’t just TV. This is testimony.
