http://www.avastpierre.com Ava's Autobiography ~ After The Storm 'Choosing To Live With Purpose By Breaking The Cycle' "An incredibly compelling true story of triumph over adversity and breaking the cycles of a wounded past. You won't want to miss the journey Ava St.Pierre takes you on and how she found her silver linings and solace in life." ~Sheree` Cogburn A True Story Of Love, Faith, Marriage, Family, Courage & Renewal Join Ava on her journey as she speaks candidly about her struggles, achievements, her road to overcoming childhood and adult adversities to finding true happiness in life. This book is written in loving memory of a daughter's/sister's endless love and compassion for her parents and baby brother. During the 1960's, Ava's father (nicknamed "Pierre" by all who knew him), was a single parent to seven children, ages thirteen to three years. Against all odds, Pierre won custody of his children during a time when fathers didn't win custody. It was far from an easy court battle with Social Services and a tug-of-war between families wanting what each felt was best for all the children. Even if it meant splitting the children up and putting them in foster care. Pierre was faced with a gut wrenching decision of sacrifice due to lack of money and resources. Signing over custody of one of his young children who was severely disabled was extremely tough on a father who was an orphan growing up. Little Mark became a ward of the State of California, a devastating blow for all involved, especially Pierre. It was a horrible time of broken heart's and a decision he never came to terms with. Ava's two mom's include Kathleen and Sylvia. Both faced with horrific struggles of their own, Ava with a heart of gold, never stopped loving them through the most challenging of situations. Both mom's special in their own unique ways, taught Ava life lessons both good and bad that she used in her everyday life and still carries with her today. The hardships she endured early in life helped to build a strong foundation and put a fire of tenacity beneath her when she became a young pregnant teen; helping Ava to become the protective and loving wife, mother and grandmere` she is today. She celebrates 37 years of marriage this month to her best friend, Rodney. Ava has carried on her brother's, mother and father's names and honored them through platforms in pageantry, such as Mental Illness Awareness, Heart Disease Prevention, Prevent Child Abuse, Breast Cancer Awareness, those effected by various disabilities and hardships to name a few. Her father, Pierre, was her role model, her constant supporter and her hero. She misses him every single day but carries him on in her heart, in her family and her love and compassion for others. Ava's autobiography is a story of debilitating mental illness, homelessness, child abuse, alcoholism, marriage, teen pregnancy, a scare with skin and breast cancers and many life lessons along the way. Through Ava's pain and adversity came hope for a better future. The triumphs of family, love, grace, peace, adventures, pageantry and 'Paying It Forward' empowered her to know being strong and helping others in their time of need was her only choice for renewal. Her strength of courage with a smile continues to heal her mind, spirit & soul. A faith in a higher power that God always has a plan encouraged Ava to make the choices early in life to live with purpose and meaning through good examples for generations to follow. Nothing good comes easy or without giving back. Part of the proceeds from Ava's book will go towards 'Mental Illness Awareness' and 'Prevent Child Abuse'.
