About Carol

Carol has enjoyed considerable success as a writer in many mediums including film, theatre, and television.

Her work, which has been seen by millions across the world, includes broken comedy, narrative comedy, drama, film, and children’s theatre and she has had plays published in London, New York, Toronto and Holland.

She has been a contract writer for two Emmy award-winning TV series, and has written and co-produced several highly successful short films including Ten Glorious Seconds, directed by BBC's Simon Pitts, featuring David Suchet (Poirot). Night Armour, directed by award-winning Carolina Giammetta, and starring Elizabeth Berrington (In Bruges) and Dan Fredenburgh (Love Actually).

In April 2014, her film – Smile – was produced by Georgina French and directed by Carolina Giammetta with a top cast including Deborah Cornelius (Mr Selfridge), Joe Tucker (Secrets & Lies) and Cara Doherty.

Her short script The Touch was one of just three selected for funding by Canon at the Berlinale, was filmed last year and will make its debut in 2015. And her film Between the Piers is now in pre-production.

Her first feature film - Watching you Dance - will go into development during 2015, and she has also starting drafting a mainstream feature which will take her back to her comedy roots.

Last year, Carol worked with Avalon productions on a new comedy sketch show - Jump the Gun - which is now looking for a home. And her one-woman comedy monologue - Sisters under the Skin -was performed at the 2013 Lincoln Comedy festival alongside Sarah Millican and Alexei Sayle.

Her produced/published/commissioned work includes: Smack the Pony; Only a Game; Het is maar een spel; Paddy’s Wake; Escape from the Forever Path; Sisters under the Skin; Fairground Attraction; My Sister was a straight; Tatterjak and the Wotsit Box; plus short stories for national magazines; and comedy sketches for radio and theatre.

Carol also has an MA in Screenwriting (TV and Film).
